Rats & Mice
Rats have been plaguing humans for a long time. We have grown up together and they love our messes. They can destroy property, carry disease and bite. Reliable rat control methods will involve finding the nest and sealing off access points that allowed them to come into your property.
Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are very difficult to control. It used to be, if someone had bed bugs, they were considered dirty or nasty, not the case these days. Bed bugs are very hardy insects, hide in places you never thought of. They can live several months without feeding. They are hitchers: they latch on to our bags and belongings and make their way into our homes and hotel rooms. And OH….please don’t pick up that antique looking table or not so old looking sofa on the side of the road or at the local flea market! You will have these extra house guests!!
Spiders
Although there are only two poisonous species in the US (Black Widows and Brown Recluses) they can often be a nuisance in your home and business. As spiders feed on other insects, eliminating things that attract other pests will help prevent problems from developing.
Cockroaches
There are over 4500 species of cockroaches, however, the most common cockroaches that invade structures are the German Cockroach, American Cockroach, Smokeybrown Cockroach, Oriental Cockroach. Cockroaches can be carriers of various diseases because they are commonly found near waste deposits or in the kitchen, where food is present. Restaurants commonly experience cockroach infestations.
Ticks
Ticks in the South East can be a major problem. They carry Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. They are found outdoors and can pose a major health risk for you, your children and pets. Long grass and heavy vegetation are prime environments for ticks to breed and spread.
Fleas
Fleas are common parasites that feed off of blood and are a common problem for pet owners. Though wingless, they are agile jumpers and have one of the longest jumps relative to their size in the animal kingdom. They have been associated with carrying disease and it is important to get any infestation under control quickly.
